Faculty Spotlight: Olga Kolpakova, violin

Olga Kolpakova

We asked our Conservatory Faculty, Olga Kolpakova, the following question: What is your favorite part of teaching? “For me, one of my favorite things is to do ensemble with students. Even when you have a very young student they experience ensemble when they are accompanied by piano. I had one student, playing a beginner exercise of open strings. One day we were working on it and, you don’t believe that child, when he heard the piano play with his open strings all of a sudden his eyes opened up and he smiled so big! Experiencing moments like that is what I love so much about teaching.”

A native of Mariyskaya ASSR, Russia, Olga Kolpakova received her Masters of Music Degree in violin performance from Kiev Tchaikovsky Conservatory along with two years of post-graduate study as concert performer, orchestra soloist, chamber ensemble soloist and music instructor. Ms. Kolpakova is an accomplished 7 year alumni member of the elite Kiev Chamber Orchestra where she made annual world tours across the globe. Currently, Ms. Kolpakova has a very full teaching schedule of private students. She frequently performs professionally at special events, major theme parks, and solo and chamber concerts; and is involved with several symphony orchestras across the state of Florida.
