Each month we will be featuring one of our Conservatory Faculty. Drew Pace, along with our newest additions of Music theory and Composition, teaches piano, organ and harpsichord. We asked him, “Why should students study Music theory and composition?” and he replied:
“Music theory demystifies the practical side of music’s power by enhancing our understanding of how it moves, breathes, and comes alive. Just as a poet must master his language before writing beautiful prose, so we as musicians must come to understand the theory of music if we wish to deepen our understanding and more fitfully praise our Creator!”
